Dow's 700-point drop led by losses for shares of Home Depot, Intel

DOW UPDATE

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Tuesday afternoon with shares of Home Depot and Intel delivering the stiffest headwinds for the blue-chip average. Shares of Home Depot and Intel have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow was most recently trading 704 points lower (-2.1%). Home Depot’s shares have fallen $22.83, or 7.2%, while those of Intel have dropped $1.55, or 5.6%, combining for an approximately 161-point drag on the Dow. 3M Walt Disney and Nike are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.59-point swing.
