The Australian sharemarket could have another shot at resetting its all-time high this week, building on the momentum that has pushed Wall Street near record levels as investors position for the start of an interest rate-cutting cycle in the world’s largest economy.
Futures indicate the S&P/ASX 200 Index will drift 0.2 per cent from Friday’s close of 8091.9 points, less than 60 points from its peak.
