Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:19AM

Karma Energy(up 15.75%), Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), ADANIGREEN(up 5.00%), Adani Power(up 2.30%), KPI Green Energy(up 1.67%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 1.66%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.41%), Reliance Power(up 1.34%), GE Power India Limited(up 0.85%) and DPSC(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers.

Inox Wind Energy(down 2.92%), Inox wind(down 2.00%), Indowind Energy(down 1.95%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 1.79%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.74%), PTC India(down 1.72%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.72%), SJVN(down 1.50%), NHPC(down 1.47%) and RTNPOWER(down 1.43%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 180.95 points down at 17408.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 659.26 points at 59147.02 at around 10:19AM.

Britannia Industries(up 0.85%), Tata Motors(up 0.84%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.35%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.12%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.1%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 3.08%), HDFC(down 2.27%), HDFC Bank(down 2.12%), State Bank of India(down 1.96%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.92%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.83%), Axis Bank(down 1.73%), ICICI Bank(down 1.48%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.37%) and JSW Steel(down 1.2%) were trading in the red.
