Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:24AM

Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 2.91%), Jyothy Labs(up 2.72%), DFM Foods(up 2.58%), Umang Dairies(up 2.15%), Hindustan Foods(up 2.07%), Dangee Dums(up 1.48%), Nakoda Group(up 1.47%), Dabur India(up 1.35%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 1.02%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers.

Heritage Foods(down 3.42%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.42%), Varun Beverages(down 3.06%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 2.06%), Parag Milk(down 1.33%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.30%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.21%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.89%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.83%) and ADF Foods(down 0.75%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 250.55 points down at 17308.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 836.33 points at 57997.54 at around 10:24AM.

Hindustan Unilever(up 0.91%), Britannia Industries(up 0.87%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.45%), Nestle India(up 0.42%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.28%),

Enterprises(up 0.19%) and UltraTech Cement(up 0.18%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 4.85%), Infosys(down 4.15%), HCL Technologies(down 3.45%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.28%), Wipro(down 3.13%), JSW Steel(down 3.06%), Tata Consultancy(down 2.98%), Tata Motors(down 2.48%), Tata Steel(down 2.19%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.11%) were trading in the red.
