Dow jumps nearly 300 points on gains in shares of Visa, Apple Inc.

Shares of Visa and Apple Inc. are trading higher Monday morning, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of Visa V, +1.26% and Apple Inc. AAPL, +0.26% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.27% is trading 290 points higher (0.9%). Visa’s shares are up $4.51 (2.1%) while those of Apple Inc. are up $3.00 (2.1%), combining for an approximately 49-point bump for the Dow. IBM IBM, +1.54%, Salesforce Inc. CRM, -0.59%, undefined Goldman Sachs GS, +0.72% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
