Visa, Microsoft share gains contribute to Dow's 333-point rally

Shares of Visa and Microsoft are seeing strong returns Wednesday afternoon, leading the Dow Jones Industrial Average rally. The Dow DJIA, +1.13% is trading 333 points, or 1.0%, higher, as shares of Visa V, +8.70% and Microsoft MSFT, +6.85% are contributing around two thirds of the index’s intraday rally. Visa’s shares have climbed $15.79 (7.9%) while those of Microsoft have risen $17.74, or 6.6%, combining for a roughly 221-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Salesforce Inc. CRM, +3.68%, Nike NKE, +2.62%, and Caterpillar CAT, +2.07%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
